Cytodynamics in the respiratory tract of the rat.

چکیده
The knowledge of cytodynamics in the respiratory tract is still in its infancy. Since Bertalanffy and Leblond (1953) described their findings in a study of the alveolar macrophage cells in the lung of the albino rat, few investigations have been reported in the literature (Koburg, 1962; Spencer and Shorter, 1962; Meyer zum Gottesberge and Koburg, 1963; and Shorter, Titus, and Divertie, 1964b), and these have indicated that the findings may vary greatly in the epithelia in the various parts of the respiratory tract, even between areas in close relationship to one another. The purpose of this paper is to report the findings obtained in

Effects of Acute Intraperitoneal Injection on Plural Rat Lungs
Purpose: Sulfur mustard (SM), a highly toxic chemical warfare, primarily targets the skin, eye and respiratory tract. Respiratory tract lesions are the most disabling consequences. Mast cells, containing special granules that store histamine and heparin, release leukotrienes. It is known that the surface of mast cells contains specific receptors for 19B. Therefore, mast cells promote allergic r...
متن کاملCryptosporidial Infection of Lower Respiratory Tract in a Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulates)
Cryptosporial and bacterial co-infection is reported in a budgerigar with clinical manifestations of septicemia and respiratory tract infection. Microscopically large number of round to oval 2-5μm cryptosporidial organisms were found to be lodged on the parabronchial epithelial cells of the respiratory tract. The bacterial colonies were seen around the parabronchial spaces of the lung tissue. I...
متن کاملEvaluation of Mycoplasma Muris and Pulmonis infections in Genital and Respiratory Tracts
Abstract Mycoplasma pulmonis and muris infections have been associated with several diseases in conventionally housed laboratory rat and mice colonies. In naturally infected of mycoplasma pulmonis in mice and rat colonies, the respiratory organ appears to be the favored site of colonization; so, it was not surprising to see that infection spread from the site of urogenital tract to the respirat...
متن کاملAlterations in salivary IgA levels in infectious and inflammatory disorders of upper respiratory tract
Background: The airway surfaces are one of the most common ways of entry of infectious agents. Oral cavity associated lymphoid tissues are inductive site of humoral immune responses in inflammatory and infectious disorders of the upper respiratory tract. These lymphoid tissues play important roles in the induction of salivary IgA. The impact of upper respiratory tract diseases on salivary IgA p...
متن کاملClinical Value of Toll Like Receptor 4 and CD14 in Children with Acute Lower Respiratory Tract Infection
Toll like receptors (TLRs) with a myeloid differentiation antigen (CD14) recognize and bind various structures from invading microbes and then trigger cell activation. They initiate a variety of effectors' functions, including cytokine secretion, proliferation, co-stimulation or phagocyte maturation. The aim of this study was to evaluate Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and CD14 expression in childr...
